Another snow fall has come, today… but just a light dust. The sky drops a few flakes every so often and then it stops. Soaking in these fleeting moments of being at home, sipping hot chocolate, and watching the snow fall, are all perfect for my last week in Maine!
Today looks just as beautiful as it did yesterday. Only today, I am out of the city and surrounded by trees, rather. The pines are a little faded, but still hold their green. Each tree is beautifully smothered in a blanket of snow. The day is gray, once again, but the white snow makes everything a little brighter.
I got stuck brushing the snow off my sister’s car, again… but I’m a Mainer; I’m pro at that by now! It only took 15 minutes for everything to warm up… I’ve experienced much longer wait times, in the past!
I live in a somewhat, rural area. The town I live in, well, now it’s a city, is about 45 minutes south from the city of Portland. It’s much, much different from my flatland home in Oklahoma! So this is why I love winter in Maine, or anywhere in New England, for that matter; when the trees are covered in snow, they glisten. I like the snow for a little bit, but I’m more excited this time because this will be the only snowfall in Maine that I see! That being said, it only made sense for me to bask in the snowy weather, to the fullest!
