Geneva, Switzerland

Three years ago, I had embarked on one of the most amazing journeys of my life. For two weeks, I spent a substantial amount of time, exploring The Netherlands, Switzerland, and France, (and making an 8 hour stop in Ireland). I still say that I’ve technically been to Ireland… because I mean, I haven’t NOT been!

The two-week trip was part of a college course I took on international human rights law. I visited places like the Peace Palace, the United Nations, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (established to prosecute crimes committed during the Yugoslav Wars), and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. I remember when I was a child, watching the news, and they would show the gatherings of countries and their diplomats at the U.N; and thinking to myself how neat it would be to sit in that room. And lo and behold, 15+ years later, I got to sit in on meetings at the U.N. It was one of the most phenomenal experiences of life!

Aside from the coursework and class meetings, I was very lucky to have been allotted the time to explore one of the world’s most beautiful continents. Since this trip happened 3 years ago, I thought the best and easiest way would be to show you all some of the best photos I took, while there.

We also got to explore the historic Old Town of Geneva.

While exploring Old Town, we walked up to this bridge that overlooked so many mountains. It was beautiful.
