Bangor, Maine: A quick look through the city!

Unfortunately, my visit up to Bangor, Maine, was short and sweet. My sister and I drove up for an art show, beautifully displayed with a friend’s finest pieces. We made so many stops on our way up, that we didn’t get to spend much time in Bangor as I had anticipated. In my previous posts, I shared with you our impromptu visit to Freeport, Maine, which is about an hour 1/2 south of Bangor.

Bangor is a city, which sits in the Penobscot County of Maine. It is about 2 1/2 hours north of Portland. I’m sure some of you might have heard of Acadia National Park (a major tourist attraction); it sits about an hour away from Bangor.

The city offers an array of fun things to do. You can explore the downtown, night life, recreational parks, and more! During our stay, we were able to go out and see what Bangor has to offer for night life. We stopped at Ipanemas, which is a bar and grill. It’s laid back, fun to bring your friends and chit chat. Another bar we visited was Paddy Murphy’s, an Irish bar that brings live bands to the place; lots of fun, especially if you like to dance!

If you’re looking for a great breakfast spot, be sure to stop in to Bagel Central, which serves a variety of fresh baked goods (bagels included), coffee, and deli!

Here, I share with you two photos from my short stay in Bangor:

A beautiful morning in Bangor. We had an early rise to head back to Portland, but were able to catch a stunning glimpse of the moon, before we left. (Photographed here, is a piece of the downtown).
Something cool I found while I’m Bangor: this piano has been sitting outside along the street for a little over 2 months now. For the time it sat out there, people would walk by and play music, bringing joy to the city. (This was all part of a Kindness Project, founded in order to bring joy and happiness to the people of Bangor). However, a few weeks ago, it was severely vandalized to the point where the keys had been glued down and the sound board ripped out… Very unfortunate.
